A plan of St Petersburg from Russian Sources
SEUTTER, Matthäus.
Topographia Sedis Imperatoriæ Moscovitarum Petropolis anno 1744 jam publici juris facta...
Augsburg, 1744. Original body colour. 505 x 580mm.
A town plan of St Petersburg directly copied from the first Russian plan of the city, drawn by George Wolffgang Krafft for the Akademiya Nauk (the St Petersburg Academy of Sciences) and first published in 1737. The only obvious difference is Seutter's use of Latin rather than Cyrillic Russian.
