A map of the environs of London, decorated with a multitude of vignette views of attractions for sightseers, including Epsom and Ascot races, Greenwich and Crystal Palace.
It was published in the Illustrated London News, at a time when the railways were beginning offering excursions to Londoners.
On verso is another large wood engraving, 'Arrival of the Emperor and Empress of the French at Windsor Castle', recording the visit of Napoleon III to England during the Crimean War.
