Uncle Sam steps off a battleship and crushes Spanish armaments on the Philippines, pointing his finger like a pistol at a scared soldier back in Spain. In the background shells explode in the sky above Cuba.
This satire was published in 'Judge', a Republican satirical magazine published between 1881 and 1947. It was drawn by Eugene Zimmerman (1862-1935), who worked for the magazine from 1885 until he retired in 1912.
