An unusual chart of South America below the Amazon, with a grid of only 1º
published as plate XII of Brouckner's scarce Nouvel Atlas de Marine. Although dated 1749, it marks "P. S. Louis" ( Port Louis) in the Falklands, founded by Louis de Bougainville in 1764.
Of interest is a note at ''B. de los Camarones'' in Argentina, suggesting a route to cross the Andes to Chiloé in the Pacific.
