Double-hemisphere, with California as an island, and an incomplete Australia and New Zealand. The North west coast of America extends towards Asia. The map was designed to show the successes of the Dutch East & West India Companies. Decorated with sailing ships, lions, and the figure of Europa, seated inside a native fort, issued in Chatelain's 'Atlas Historique'.
