One of the most decorative maps of the county, with an inset plan of the city of Bedford, armorials and large cartouches for title and scale. It was engraved by Jodocus Hondius in 1610 and originally published in John Speed's atlas, 'The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain' the following year. However this example was published over a century later, only updated with a few roads, taken from Ogilby.
