An uncommon First World War cartographic keepsake

Anonymous.

It's a Long, Long, Way to Tipperary, My Heart's Right There.
c.1914. Colour-printed cotton handkerchief. 320 x 330mm.

An unusual World War I keepsake, with a map of the British Isles and northern France, with three women and a child representing the four countries of the United Kingdom waving to a British Tommy on the Western Front.
The title is taken from the famous music hall song, first performed in 1912, telling the story of a home-sick Irish worker in London, missing his homeland. It was soon adopted as a British Army marching song, highlighting the soldiers' stoicism while fighting abroad.
This example is remarkably good condition for its age.
