Two maps printed on a single sheet, by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK). The left hand map is Western Australia, extending from Albany to Jurien bay and shows the settlements at Swan River and King George's Sound. It also shows many topographical features.
The right hand map is Van Dieman Island, Tasmania. This is a much updated maps which reflects the recent explorations of the region. It was issued a few years after the Black war, in which settlers drove Tasmanian Aborigines from their lands, and killing most of the indigenous people.
