A French double-hemisphere map marking the routes of voyagers including Tasman and Halley. First published c.1720 this example has been updated to show the supposed discoveries de Fuca and de Font in the Pacific north west, with the 'Mer de l'Ouest' and a North West Passage. The title cartouche contains the French Royal Arms and allegorical figures of the Four Continents.
