A map of Morocco drawn up by Ortelius himself, with a superb strapwork title cartouche. Top left is an inset of the Congo after Filippo Pigafetta (1533-1604), who later translated the text of Ortelius's atlas for an Italian edition.
First published 25 years after the first edition of the Theatrum, this map is comparatively rare.
