CLOPPENBURG, Evertszoon.

Germaniae Nova et Accurata Descriptio.

Rare panelled map of Germany engraved by Cloppenburg and first published by him in 1630, also encompassing Switzerland, Austria and Bohemia.
The upper panel features equestrian portraits of the Holy Roman Emperor and the seven Electors; the side borders have costume vignettes of a noble couple, city dwellers and rustics, with prospects of (left) Prague, Speyer, Nuremberg and Basel, (right) Cologne, Vienna, Regensburg and Ulm. The bottom panel has prospects of Frankfurt, Augsburg, Mentz, Leipzig, Strasbourg, Lubeck, Heidelburg, Brunswick, Trier and Hamburg. Underneath each prospect is a block of four city crests, although several along the bottom row are blank.
