A map of classical Italy, drawn by Ortelius himself for his 'Parergon', his atlas of the ancient world.
The plate was first published in 1584: this is the last issue before it was replaced with a new plate in 1601. Van den Broecke estimates that only 975 examples of this plate were printed, as opposed to 3075 for its later replacement.
