A large folding map of London, extending to (clockwise from the west): the Serpentine in Hyde Park, Stoke Newington, Blackwall & Camberwell.
First published in 1820, this plan was frequently updated, with about twenty distinct editions. This example was published for the Great Exhibition of 1851, for which the Crystal Palace was erected in Hyde Park (location shown).
As the case, map and the index have the labels of Parisian map-seller Longuet, it is probably that they were sold to a French customer intending to visit the exhibition.
