A large and detailed map of South America, with fine rococo cartouches for the title and scale.
Alexis-Hubert Jaillot redrew Sanson's map of South America on a larger scale at the request of Sanson's heirs. After a dispute Jaillot passed his work to the Amsterdam publisher Mortier, who re-engraved the maps and issued his own 'Atlas Nouveau' still with the original attributions.
